The Alaska Staff Development Network (ASDN) is the training arm of the Alaska Council of School Administrators, helping ACSA provide cost-effective, quality professional development opportunities for Alaskan teachers and administrators.

In 2010 nearly 3,500 educators enrolled in an ASDN-sponsored event. We sponsored 31 face-to-face institutes, and 53 distance education classes – including 30 webinars.

ASDN is a statewide partnership initiated in 1983 that includes Alaska’s 53 school districts, four colleges and universities, the Department of Education and Early Development, the Alaska Association for Secondary School Principals, the Alaska Association of Elementary School Principals, NEA-Alaska, and a number of professional education associations.
We believe that the unique professional growth needs of Alaska’s teachers and administrators can be best met by strengthening collaborative relationships among these groups.
Our 2011-2012 priorities were developed at our Annual Meeting in April. Our work was informed by our statewide Needs Assessment and was conducted by education leaders from all over the state.
