Join the Rev. Dr. Michael Oleksa, a leader in the development of cross-cultural communication in Alaska and student of Native cultures for Alaska Alive! a three credit, 500-level Alaska History course this summer. This course meets Alaska Department of Education and Early Development requirements for teacher certification and re-certification. This course has been approved by the Anchorage School District. Over a thousand Alaskan educators have participated in Father Oleksa’s ASDN classes over the last fifteen years. The session begins with two-and-a-half days of instruction from Father Oleksa in Anchorage, and is completed online. The follow-up work must be completed online. A working email address and access to the Internet are required. Alaska Alive! participants will take a half day guided field trip to the Anchorage Museum of History and Art as part of this class. All other activities will take place at the BP Energy Center in Anchorage.
