Dr. Mark Shinn guides K-12 educators and administrators through the process of implementing RTI at the elementary and secondary level, with at focus on building systems for progress monitoring. A key feature of successful implementation is having a vision or “blueprint” of its essential features. This series presents a checklist for critical care items that help facilitate RTI implementation at both the elementary and secondary levels, and distinguishes between the key components needed at each level. Dr. Shinn also details the importance of the “R” in RTI, the capacity to measure response using curriculum-based measurement to easily see how students are progressing.
